History and heart

A meeting place for generations

Set on the edge of the North York Moors, the pub serves Nether Silton, Over Silton, Kepwick and the surrounding countryside. Our villages have a story stretching back to the Domesday Book, and the Gold Cup remains a place to socialise, relax and feel part of local life.

Community run, volunteer led

Keeping the doors open together

Since December 2025, the pub has been run by local volunteers. That commitment created the opportunity to secure it as a community asset.

Today it operates as a welcoming wet-led bar, serving beers, wines and spirits at affordable prices. Over time, the community hopes to broaden the offer with more events, longer opening and potentially food when it is sustainable to do so.
